Fall Colors | Caldwell, NJ Baby and Family Photographer

24 Jan

It may be a Winter Wonderland outside today, but I can’t help but think about the beautiful Fall colors that were all over this past Autumn. I met this cute family in Grover Cleveland Park in October to capture some candid, colorful shots! New residents from Chicago, this family had never been to the park so it was great to show them around. Their adorable baby was nothing but smiles during the entire shoot and I love that they brought they dog, Boss too! I hope to see you all again this year!

Running around the park | Upper Montclair, NJ Children Photographer

19 Jan

Living in the Montclair area provides lots of great locations for children and family sessions! I shot my first session at Anderson Park in Upper Montclair with these two energetic and fun kids back in October. These two were naturals in front of the camera – We just ran around the park and had fun. I think it shows in the photos! I hope to see them again this year!

A Fall Central Park Family Session | Manhattan Children and Family Photographer

18 Jan

Today’s blog post features a wonderful family session taken in Central Park during the Fall. This family won a session I donated at a silent auction event for Penelope’s Odyssey, a charity focused on spreading awareness for pediatric cancer. It’s a great charity for a wonderful cause!

I met the D family on a beautiful day in October at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park – one of my favorite spots in the park! There’s always a great variety of photos I can take there even when it’s completely packed with people! I love meeting new families and hearing their stories. Makes this job so special! This family was fun, expressive and energetic! Everyone really showed their personalities and I could feel the strong bonds in the family. I hope to see the D family again soon!

Fun Winter Indoor Family Session | Livingston NJ Maternity, Family and Childrens Photographer

11 Jan

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and spent time with family and friends! 2014 was pretty amazing for me but I’m excited to see what 2015 has in store! Expect to see many adorable faces on the blog this year as I will be focusing more on childrens and family photography!

My first blog post of the year is a shoot from last January. It’s hard believe it’s been almost a year sine this shoot! I wanted to highlight this session because it’s a great example of during this time of year you can still have fun, beautiful photo shoots indoors without having to brave the cold! For my indoor shoots, I let the kids run around and grab the families into tight groups. The end result are always lighthearted photos with a mix of candid and posted shots. A great mix of both! I loved photographing this bunch because they were so natural and fun! We did a big family shoot including grandparents, incorporating a mini maternity and two of the individual families. I loved the variety and hope to see this group again soon!

First Communion | Glen Ridge, NJ Children and Family Photographer

13 Oct

I loved taking portraits of this adorable family again for Cassie’s First Communion. This little beauty was beaming as she walked around in her beautiful communion dress. She could have stayed in front of the camera for hours but I was happy she shared some camera time for her siblings because they are pretty adorable too!!

Our Honeymoon in Greece | Montclair NJ Photographer

8 Aug

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here, but figured my recent trip to Greece would be a great post to get back into the swing of things!  My husband (still getting used to saying that!) and I traveled to Greece for our honeymoon in June and could not have been more pleased with our experience. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Our trip started in Athens where we explored the Acropolis and wandered around the ancient city. It’s kind of hard to think that anything is old in the States after visiting Athens! We are happy we got to experience Athens, but were ready to continue onto Santorini for the next part of our trip. The moment we stepped off the plane in Santorini, we were in awe. Santorini is truly breathtaking. As a good friend explained to me, “It’s like walking into a postcard!” It just didn’t seem real. We stayed in Oia, which we found to be a great spot since everyone flocks there to watch the sunset. It’s so beautiful people clap when it’s over! We were greeted by friendly people and indulged in the mouth watering traditional food and delicious wine. It was hard to leave Santorini, but after a few blissful days, it was time to head to Crete. We enjoyed Crete for it’s crystal clear waters, small towns and of course the fresh, delicious food. I would kill for a fresh Sea Bass and Greek salad right now. After Crete, we traveled to Lindos, Rhodes, which was a great place to finish our trip. Lindos is a very small, adorable town in Rhodes filled with cute shops and sandy beaches. We stayed in an adorable hotel which was just a walk down a path to the lovely beach. Lindos is so small, you either had to walk or take a donkey around. We chose to walk but I loved taking photos of all the locals with their donkeys! There was even a Donkey Terminal!

I could go on and on about how great our trip was. Needless to say, Greece was amazing! Pictures really don’t do it justice. I took almost 2,000 photos over this amazing trip mostly with my Fuji x100s (which I LOVE). Of course I took my Canon 5D Mark II, but found it liberating to walk around with the Fuji. It was very hard to select my favorites, but I hope you all enjoy my images from the trip! I hope we have a chance to travel there for our 10 year anniversary.. or sooner! We would do it all over again! Enjoy!

Marlene & Jim’s Staten Island Wedding | Staten Island and North Jersey Wedding Photographer

9 Mar

Last June, Marlene and Jim had a beautiful wedding in Staten Island on an absolutely gorgeous day. We started off at Marlene’s parent’s home in Staten Island to capture the getting ready photos and to take a few shots under a nostalgic tree overlooking the water. Marlene and her father left in style in a vintage white Cadillac as we made our way to St. Joseph’s Church, the oldest church in Staten Island.

After the ceremony, we made our way over the the Conference House for family and wedding party photographs. This historic landmark was a great location as it is surrounded by lush forests, marshland and meadows, giving us lots of variety for photos. We then made a quick stop at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral which is where one of the scenes from the Godfather was filmed to add a little extra storyline to their photos. It was only appropriate since they were cruising in the vintage Cadillac. Before we knew it, it was time to go head to the Reception at Angelina’s Ristorante, a beautiful waterfront venue. The reception was lively and filled with a great crowd who enjoyed the food, drinks and great band. It was very clear that everyone had a great time. Marlene and Jim are big music lovers, so it was great to see their details around the reception. Congrats again to Marlene and Jim. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!

Marlene & Jim’s Branch Brook Park Engagement Shoot | Bloomfield NJ Engagement and Wedding Photographer

23 Feb

Since these past two days have been so nice and made me hopeful for Spring, I was reminded of Marlene and Jim’s engagement shoot I shot last April. We decided on Branch Brook Park  since the park is filled with Cherry Blossoms that time of year and the setting is really beautiful.  It was a gorgeous day and the lighting was great; these two were naturals in front of the camera. I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for their wedding photos soon!
